Hi,
My name is Carmen Terol, I am a flute player who feels comfortable working in different musical environments including interdisciplinary projects and new media.
Raised as a classical flute player, I have performed in different orchestras and ensembles such as Antwerp Symphony Orchestra, Orquesta Nacional de España, deOrkest Academie, Ensemble Oihua, Distractfold Ensemble, among others.
Alongside ensemble playing, I love to explore the possibilities of music in interdisciplinary projects.
Contemporary music, gestural theater and video have always captured my attention. Willing to step out of my comfort zone, I have been exploring music from an interdisciplinary perspective, mixing music and theatre/visuals since 2019.
I obtained my flute and flute pedagogy Bachelor diplomas at the Real Conservatorio Superior de Musica de Madrid, Spain, with teacher Manuel Guerrero and my Master’s degree at Fontys Hogeschool voor de Kunsten, Tilburg with teachers Edith van Dyck and Leon Berendse.
Besides my work as a flute player I teach at the SKVR, Rotterdam and MOC, Spijkenisse.
